The Royal Mint celebrated Beatrix Potter’s 150^th birthday in 2016 with five special coins featuring characters from her much-adored children’s stories. Because of their popularity, the next year brought more of Beatrix’s wonderful characters like Benjamin Bunny in a new set of coins. For 2018, the third series of the Beatrix Potter 50p coins includes Mrs. Tittlemouse among the three new characters. The tidy wood mouse was featured in her very own story, ‘The Tale of Mrs Tittlemouse,” where she fought to maintain cleanliness in her house as a line of visitors spoiled her floors and surfaces. The storybook is included in the gift set, continuing Beatrix’s magic world for years to come. 

The coin’s design is based on Beatrix’s own watercolour illustrations. The Proof standard finish and colour printing on the coin adds warmth and character to Mrs Tittlemouse’s details, designed by Emma Noble. From her delicate whiskers to the details on her blue and white dress, the superb quality of this coin is protected by the included clear acrylic presentation case.
